For the members in here that now posses the build sheet that came with their truck Whered you find it on your truck and how long after owning it did you come buy it(accident/go looking) and it's the shape Thanks
Hey my 78 was bought new by my great grandfather and it was a sawmill truck til 2000 when i got it. Upon redoing the interior i found the build sheet. Ive found a couple in other trucks too. All the ones ive found have been on the underside of the seat. In between the foam and the springs. The one in my 78 was in very good shape and i still have it.
73 F-250 CC. The truck has had a few owners. The guy I got it from saved it from being scrapped for parts. He just drove it as it was for the most part. I swapped my 390 in to replace the 360 that was in there. The build sheet was in the glove box. Not in great shape but was in the original owners manual so not too bad either.
Still driving the truck till I finish my next one. Then someone else can have the pleasure.
I'm not sure what I found (build sheet or something else) but there was a card with the old style computer punch marks taped behind the dash (the metal part that has the controls) on my '78 F250 Crewcab. I did find a copy of the build sheet in the truck but can't remember where it was located, i'm thinking under the headliner. Another copy was in the glove box when I bought the truck from the 2nd owner.
Mine is under my seat, but I don't want to pull it out because it's pretty fragile. I requested a replacement from Ford, but they just sent me a form letter with the basic specs (motor, color etc), which is nothing like the actual build sheet - they simply just decoded the VIN (which I already did). I was pretty disappointed after I opened the letter.
The only thing I didn't know because I don't have a title or door jamb sticker was the manufacture date and the "protection group" whatever that is. And I didn't know it came with the Am/FM stereo or the original tire size. Other than that most other info given me was the VIN decode.

The build sheet on my 74' was under the seat between the springs and the foam. I removed it and filed it away for safe keeping when I recovered the seat.
