i got my build sheet from ford and had a few questions, first what is "visibility group" second what is "convenience group" and third, it says my truck is equiped with a "high output heater" how can i determine if this is true? it was very interesting reading what my truck originally came with, its nothing like it is now!! also is there any way to tell where it was originally sold?
My '76 had a label between the heater controls and the radio. Also the word Hi-Output was marked on the heater plenum under the dash, about half way between the defrost control and the temperature control. The high output takes a different heater core also.
Convenience Group Includes:
12" Day/Night mirror, Door Pockets,Intermittent wipers,Glove compartment lock,High Output heater
HO heater is standard in SC's & CC's
Visibilty Group Includes:
Cargo,Engine,Glove Compartment,Ash Tray,Under dash courtesy Lights
thanks for the info mil1ion.
my truck has none of that stuff now, unless i put it there. it had an 8 inch tiny day night mirror, no door pockets, normal wipers, it did have a glove box lock, and i dont know if it has the ho heater. it had none of the visibility group!
ive since added the 12 inch day night mirror, intermittent wipers, and courtesy lights. i removed the glove box lock as i didnt have the key.
infact after reading my build sheet i was able to find out that the whole body on my truck is not original! nor is the transmission.
i wanted to request a couple more build sheets for my 3 other trucks, and i cant seem to find the link to the request page does anyone have it?
You'll have to go through customer service now for the build sheets. I just did it a while back. They've made it quite a hassle now. You'll have to provide the VIN, year, make, and model for them to do the search. Still got the sheet in less than a month from the day of contact though.
