So I have been noticing that when I drive my 90 F250 5.8L and turn it off it is difficult to start when the engine is hot. Today in some high heat heavy work driving I turned off the truck and when I went to restart it I got nothing. No clicking from the starter and no electrical at all, lights don't come on radio etc. Tried to boost but nothing happened. I was thinking starter because of the afforementioned heat issues but now I don't know. Anyone got any ideas. Oh and it is in a parking lot so hopefully I can do it on site without towing.
If it includes lights, like in headlights, I would check for bad connections right at the battery and any fat cables coming from it to whatever they are attached to.
Check you battery connections..Make sure they are tight...Also, check you power wire for the starter..Look at the starter, a lot of corrosion can occur inside the heat shield of a starter on those wires..And check you solenoid, mine is above the fender on PASS side...Replace it if you have to, 10 or 11 bucks..let us know what you find..
Check your fusible links. If you have a loose one it could expand in the heat and lose contact and when it cools make a better connection. Had a similar situation in my truck.
EDIT: I would lose all electrics in the whole truck. No lights, no radio, no voltmeter. I thought battery too, but I had a new one to swap and still got nothing.
Maybe we are overlooking the obvious..................Dead Battery.

Your right, it could be his battery. But I never had battery start one day fine and not the next, and start fine again...IMHO he has a wiring issue or a bad starter, cause of wiring...
I realy would check the battery first and then the connections. Always start with the simple solutions first. Then go on to less obvious problems. The key chime working once and a while is a clue.
checked the battery it is fine I believe that it is a wiring issue but may also be the starter. I was able to get it started today by boosting it and putting the positive lead on the solenoid thing on the fender beside the battery but it only worked once and the power in the electrical is very intermitint. Some times there is and sometimes there is nothing. I am going to do some wiring, new good etc. and take the starter out and get it tested. Any other suggestions. Also when it did run today the voltmeter gauge on the dash was swaying from about 10 volts to 14 volts back and forth.
OK..Well like Netscanner said it sounds like you hare having multible issues. If your having voltage sways that wide after the truck gets started then it sounds be alternator related as well...Either way, you are having issues with wiring. I know starters and alternators sometimes have attitudes but, I can't beleive you don't have some corrosion on your wiring somewhere....Have you looked at the wires for the starter yet?
I had the same issue today, 3 times everything went like low battery even radio lost stations after three tries it cranked again happened 2 or 3 times and right now its working fine.

You all need to check your wires...especially if they are the stock factory wiring..20+ years above heat and cold , rain, salt, road grime..It takes it's toll...Case in point; When I removed my old starter, the hot wire was so corroded with rust, just simply broke off...I barely touched it...So I replaced the whole wire back through the the igniton. Overkill? Maybe..But I don't wander if my truck will start or not...
