75 f100 I-6 3spd with a nine inch under it.
The question is since i think i see some of that "city truck" orange hidden around what normally would the gear ratio be?
it has always been a I-6 and 3 spd. base -base model
Like Mil1ion said, the rating plate on the drivers side door jam will have the code, or the axle tag it's self(but over 30+ years, there is a good chance it isn't there any more).
IF for some reason it doesn't have either one, then you can jack the rear of the truck up, and mark the tire and driveshaft, and (I'm tired so I could be saying this wrong) if the driveshaft spings 3 1/2 times to one full rotation of the tire, then it is a 3.50 gear ratio or how ever many revolutions of the shaft it takes for one to the tire.
We need the axle tag (to partially confirm) or axle code from the Rating plate to get an idea.
sorry Million, and MBB, i was confused, and excited b/c now i can decode anybodys probablem, but i will need the axle code like both of yall mention/and or said
I'll try to get out there today if it isn't raining, i just assumed that it would be 1 of 3 choices, like my mustang was - i thought i saw part of the the paper tag on the door frame
If you have mud and "gunk" around that bolt, it will be very hard to see your first number, i had to take a pressure washer to mine, it hadnt been done in years.
