door speakers

i have an 02 supercrew and just wondering what size speakers will fit in it?
I found some 6x9 alpine type S for dirt cheap and i was just seeing if they would fit.

The factory speakers are 6x8. A lot of people also use 5x7 as they normally have the same mounting screw pattern.

6x9s would probably work with some modification of the door panels.

alright, thanks. Ill try to find those then.
I found these on ebay, anyone have the type R Alpines? Good price?
any opinions help.

Type R's are nice, I used to have some. I personally, if you want something cheap would go with TMA, they are made by JL Audio and in there price bracket they can't be beat. I bought mine at a local shop and paid $100 a pair you can probably get them even cheaper on the net though.

I bought two pairs of these but haven't had the time to put them in yet. They sounded great in the store though, and I've always been happy with eclipse speakers in the past.

Yeah those eclipse sound really good as long as you don't put a lot of power to them..Then the tweeters cut out to protect themselves.

Didn't know that thanks for the info Cole26. I'm assuming my Eclipse XA5000 pushing them won't be too much? One channel for each speaker and then the sub channel pushing a Image Dynamics IDQ10D2V2 sub in a JL Audio stealthbox. Sorry for the thread hijack
