Bed mounted winch
#16
I posted posted pictures of the set up I did somewhere, maybe the 4x4 forum. Basically I run a piece of 3" x 1/4" channel frame rail to frame rail. Bolt it down with (2) 1/2" grade 8 bolts each side, then through the bed bolt the winch to that. If you buy a boat winch, you can bolt the plate to the beam through the bed and just remove the winch when ever you want. The winches come with long enough cables to hook directly to the battery.
The largest thing I ever winched into the bed was a 1200 pound, 28" diameter log.

you about make one yourself so you can mount it to the actual frame rails all you have to h
steel plate above and below the frame bolts come up through the floor you might have to make it yourself all these enthusiasts on here will keep telling you to mount it on your trailer which is stupid. I own 3 trailer s . I want to be able to use the winch to pull it on to all my trailers so to those of you say put it on the trailer why would you do that people want to steal your treasure and your winch you about the wind in the very front of the bed in the center on the floor with steel plate lining up with your friends underneath then you can use it for anything out of your bed people don't even see it don't get stolen you can pull your truck you can win off of the receiver and pull the truck forward or you can pull straight out the back and pull something into the truck how you got a small design it on mind it I can pick an electric pick up 400 pound motor up off the ground and set it in the bed of my truck with that went without touching the tailgate
