From what I can remember of one of Bill`s post it`s a good idea to get a 3 speed from a 65. It fits and has 1 st gear syncros.

65 doesn't necessarly have a 1st gear synchro.

I say if your building a trann go for the T-5 Chevrolet (spit). But then I know you either want to rod everything or completly stock.
But performance wise the T5 from a S10 is your best bet for a Flattie.

Well if your brother is putting in that 350, a T5 can't hold a 350.

Well thats nice for brand loyalty, but some companies do make some products, that work a little better then stock ford stuff!

Its almost like getting an aftermarket tranny, except ya jsut dont tell people it would be from a chevy haha.

Good one, my thinking too...
I`m sure there is an $$$ adapter involved but an overdrive would be sweet to have.
My 56 F350 dually has a 5.13 rear end so an over drive/6 speed would be great.

See thats the thing, which is more important, having that overdrive, or having all ford brand parts?!
