lol i dont care and no i meant 18" of play. If you put a mark on the steering wheel right dead center at the top of the wheel there is at least 9" of play to the left and the right for an overall of 18:

18 actually ain't bad, I've got worse. But I can't beat the no secound gear thing. Thats impressive.

Driving your truck I didn`t think it was that bad Chris.
Guess that`s why you want to rebuild your streering gear box, it`s a good thing you have some most the parts already.

A 49 Ford 1 ton loaded steers way easier then my 1958 1/2 ton.
Seriously I guess thats the reason why I don't switch Fords over to P/S though. And why I'm kinda gettin strong.

Ever see swather tracks down a grid road thats my International 3/8 of a wheel rotation slack!!!

Taking the fields home just before harvest isn`t a great idea.....
If the neighbours follow your tracks to your place there`s big trouble over trampled crops.
