Need to dig into the motor, seals are going from sitting to long between trips..
Want to change to cam , intake, timing gear/chain, pistons if neede while I have it torn down..not sure what I will find inside (other than sludge)
Want to improve low end torgue and hp as we will be towing a boat next year and travling more now that the daughter is in collage.
Any feed back on good sources for decent suppliers of engine internals will be appreciated.
I would like to get all parts from the same source if possible.
I agree..I buy all of my engine rebuild parts from Summit.to get the low end torque you are looking for I would suggest a double roller timing set with a 3-way crank gear.Install it in the 4 degree advanced position, this will really wake up that tired ole 460!

If you listen on a quiet night..you can hear a Chevy rust...F-1s FOREVER
Change to double roller timing set (Cloyes #3122), when selecting a cam make sure that what ever lift and duration you select, the exhaust valve "sees" .020-.025" more lift and 10-15 degrees more duration, Fords (both God and I love 'em) are notorious for bad exhaust ports. Super Ford did an intake manifold comparison and to my surprise the factory boat anchor intake made more torque down below 2500 rpm than any other manifold. I hope this helps in any way.

Don't buy anything before tearing down.
Like you said, don't know what you will find.
Might need boring, crankshaft might need turning.
etc. etc.
So you don't know what you need until all is checked.
afterwards a good R.V. cam in a 460 will help bottom end torque, to move that weight.
edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock or carter 625 - 700 cfm Vac sec. carb. (unless you like adjusting often with a holley).
( Mobile Home = interstate vehicle) ceramic coated headers, ( don't want to be changing, painted headers every 2yrs.)
