Trail rider, thanks I have the whole truck with a fuel injected 351 c-6 auto and want to replace the ch*** 454 somebody put in this 40 ford I figured that it would be different because everybody puts in ch***'s and I figured that a ford deserves a ford engine!!!! I need to know whether I have to take all the wiring and try to figure out what runs it or is there an easy way to find just the engine wiring? thanks John
This may be a long shot... Ford is selling 351 FI`s in crate form. I believe they have a wiring harness for the retro fit idea. That may save having to remove and cut out what you want from the doner..
maby just a phone call and you will know.
Now, you will have to Up Grade the fuel system also

fatforty, check with ford racing and some of the aftermarket wiring suppliers such as painless wiring to see the products that are available.
our fellow car heads in the street rod game do this kind of stuff all the time. check out some of the street rod magazines and visit some rod builders.
like the other guys said, get all the parts from donor car ,includig fuel system.
I don't know what suspension you are running, but watch out
for that front sump oil pan on your new Ford motor. I have
a 53 ford with the original straight axle and my 351c front
sump fits beautifully. With a mustang II I bet there is
interference. Before I would do this swap, I would get a
book I've got called Ford Fuel Injection. Classic Motorbooks
sells this plus I've seen it in local bookstores. It has
pinouts, diagrams, and explains better than the factory manual
how that fuel injection works. I always contemplated fuel
injection, but the gas tank modifications with the recirculating
fuel lines seemed a little too much for me to handle.
Thanks for the warning, right now this thing has a supercharged 454 ch*** in it he moved the firewall back three inches to clear everything but I will check out the book and do some serious measuring before I do the swap thanks again,
John (fatforty)
