What do i need to do this mod to get rid of the mixing bowl in the tank? I understand the purpose of this and gtting rid of the quick connects on the suction side of the fuel line, But can some onefurther explain what they are doing with the fuel rails and return on the engine? and I seen some guys putting an extra FPR on there. any futher explanation of this would be a great help!!!!
Sorry for all the questions Im still a newbie!!! LOL
How well set up is your work area?
Reason I am asking is what I did is to migrate my fuel pump to the end of the pickup.
That is the best setup IMO because it pressurizes the entire fuel system and the pump does not have to pull the fuel to itself at all.
One of the principles of hydraulics is it is a LOT more efficient to push the fluid instead of pulling it.
Look in my gallery "Fuel pump in the tank" for some pictures that I took.
I will third the Kit from Dennis at ITP. I could have pieced a DIY kit together, I'm sure, but after all the running around to get all the pieces it was much easier and more cost effective to get the kit.
I believe(I could also be wrong) that the main concern with air in the fuel comes from the quick connects before the fuel pump, where the pump is sucking fuel instead of pushing it. The same would apply to the return, they are under positive pressure(pushing) not negative pressure(sucking)
