Transmission trouble

I have a 98 Ford Windstar, 3.8. When I first start the van and shift into reverse, nothing happens, no clunk, no engagement. It I shift into drive and then back into reverse then its ok. After this it shifts into reverse with no problems. What kind of trouble am I looking at? Thanks

Somebody here in the 4.2 forum might know, but you might have better luck asking in the transmission forum.

Give it a shot and see what happens.
