Thanks ErnestEugene!!! that is exactly where my temp probe sensor is located.
I was hauling some heavy gravel a few days ago and I think that is what drove the temps up. I ws very careful to not drive the engine too hard and backed down my DiabloSport to a safe TOW mode. The temp really has not climbed above 240, but that temp is right at the point of being Ok to getting in a Yellow warning zone, but def has not climbed passsed into the RED Danger zone(320)
I am going to change my oil tomorrow and send in an oil sample.
I think you're just fine. I've got Autometer gauges, but my sending unit is located in the HPOP res. I see temps near 240 degrees every time I'm on the highway. They're around 235 most to the time. If I'm hauling a load, they will climb to about 245. Around town, temps tend to stay around the 220 mark. Only while on the highway will the temp sustain something around 240 degrees.
