I rebuilt my C-6 about a year and a half ago with a Broader 500hp kit.
I am very happy with how the tranny works .
Broader is also very knowledgable and helpfull with tech support.
I probably called him 5 to 10 times with questions during the build.
He also has good prices on torque converters. Will build one for your needs.
Good luck.

Ken thanks for the info. Sounds like they are good to deal with. Did you get a servo from them also? They list a R code servo for $125. I'll have to give them a call and see what they can recommend. I'll look at their converters too!!
As far as the difference, my dad rebuilt his C6 outa his '77 E350 and then tried to rebuild the C6 in his '67 fastback, didn't come out so well. He tried 3 times and came out with the same problem each time and ended up taking it somewhere and never figured out what it was. We just rebuilt my C6 in my 73 f100 about 3 years ago and it came out beautiful. So he's 2 for 3 and couldn't figure out the one so I'd same somethin in there is different. Whether or not the difference is in the application or the year I'm not sure.
The only difference in the years in trannys that i know of is the rubber seals that go on the pistons behind the clutch packs, early years had a square cut seal and later years had lip style seal.
The wrong seal on a piston would probalbly make it slip.
If you can find or locate the old style forged intermediate band this is one strong band that can be relined, the friction material is machined after applied. It was in production for only a couple of years back in the early mid
60's.
