Resetting Check Engine Light
Hello everyone:
I own a 03 Expeditition Eddie Bauer. I recently had the displeasure of dealing with the coil issue. Now it is all resolved but check engine light remains on. Does anybody know how to reset it?

OK, first suggestion is to go to Autozone and buy a code scanner so you can evaluate your issues and reset the computer. The cost of that scanner will pay for one trip to have Ford do it for ya, depending on the unit you get. You'll also be able to diagnose future problems yourself without having to wait, mine stays in my truck. Get a Haynes manual also, they have most of the codes and how to fix the issues. Now if you want to wait to buy one, go to Autozone anyway and they will bring their scanner out for you and reset it for free. Hope this helps....
You could also remove the positive terminal on your battery and wait a minute and reconnect it. But then you'll have to reprogram your stations and clock and anything else.
