Maybe I'm just a dummy? I'm having one heck of a time installing my 5" MKO kit on my 01 F250 EC SB. I got the DP on just fine, but can't sem to get anything else to line up or look like it will clear. Maybe my hangers are bad? They won't even support the weight of the pipe without sagging and throwing the whole thing off. I'd like to get it on tonight, but don't want to call Mark this late. Any help/pics appreciated!!!!!
Check out my gallery, Ive got pics of the sysyem hanging. As far as hanging it, do not tighten anything until the whole system is pieced together. Then go through and start tightening each piece one at a time.
Okay, maybe my hangers are the culprit. In your gallery the pic "Stove Pipe!", ur hangers a WAAAAAY more supportive than mine. Mine are all mushy and such. I have the 5" MD no tip on a EC SB btw. If anyone else has this same setup, I'd be interested to se s'more pics! The instructions leave a bit to be desired (no illustrations as to which part is which) but it seems like it'll look pretty awesome when I'm done!!!
My hangers have 170,000 miles on them. I doubt it is youre hangers. You will see how the system strengthens/straightens/tightens up as you start tightening the exhaust clamps. JMHO
Here's the part that's killin' me. I can't get the tail pipe on right without it resting on the fender, or on the rear shock. Approx where should the rear hanger be on the tail pipe piece? Also, when I think the tail pipe and the piece that goes over the axle look good, I find that they are WAAAAAY off from lining up for the extension pipe to go in. The hangers don't actually keep the thing up off the bolts that the flat spot is there for either. Really thinking the hangers are shot. Hoping I'm not just too stupid to do this. Pic of worst looking hanger attached (I think).
I thought I posted this q earlier but I guess not. Can I run this thing with just the DP and next section on? I need to take it to work and as of now I only have time for 4.5 hrs of sleep.
yes you can run it that way for a short bit..looks to me like you didnt get the tail pipe put together quite right for it too be sitting that way..it does get confusing
Keeping it off the shock is gonna be hard. Tighten the last bend that the tip would attach to. Then make your adjustments moving forward on the exhaust, maintaining that last bend from touching the shock.
