Guys, I'm getting headers. There's nothing you can say to convince me that they won't help, as I have a 292 Y-block, and the exhaust comes off of the front of one manifold through a x-over pipe into the front of the other manifold and out the back through a single 2 in pipe.
So, I'm just looking for info. I'm looking at two sets of Red's hedders. One set is a shorty set, and the other set is big and long; looks to go under the firewall.

They're both $195 +$200 for coating.
I know that one (either short or long) helps with bottom end; that's what I'm looking for.
Any input guys?

Andrew, if your looking for more low speed snort, I believe the longer pipes will do that best. Go for it. DF

That's what I thought, just wasn't sure!
I've got the torqey 292, 4spd/granny soon to be a 3+1 o/d, 4.56:1 posi gearing, 31x8 bias soon to be 28x10.5 mud terrain radials. All in my '64 F-250 4x2! I'm going to have all kinds of fun stuff off the line, but the cam/head work should help me up top as well.
