So I'm thinking...

We've scheduled up some time for us to get together here and there to work on "the beast", AKA ThumperRoo.

We all wind up dirty and sweaty and grungy, then head our seperate ways (except for AJ, he travels in "style").

So how about a simple burgers and chicken BBQ get together at my place?

I just filled the pretend-doughboy up today (18 x4) and your kids will have fun, us older folks can crawl in too, in order to cool off...but just make it a simple GTG with some food and drink, let our kids splash around and we can all enjoy a day off from our own projects, as well as the Chapter Projetct?

What I'll do is cover the food end of things, as well as most of the beverages (Beer, soda, water, etc).

I can pull the camp trailer up and dust it out, it'll sleep an easy two...four if you're family. If the MH is still here, I can let you guys bunk in it, but I'm trying to sell it off for my mom right now, so I'm unsure of it's status.

There's plenty of room to park your own rigs if you'd like to drive them down.

I'm just thinking all work and no play get's pretty boring.

I like it. I've been wanting to do something like that up here, especially out at the lake but I'm so far off the beaten path, it's like pulling teeth to get people to come all the way up here. A "do" at your place may be just the thing.

Now to pick a date...

Set a date ... I'm booked for the next few weekends .... SJ Grand Prix, Tower Park, HAN, and MAYBE Speedweek ... After that ????

BTW - I'd like to buy a used 5th wheel for the crowd for pulling behind my F100 to the Mud Drags. However, I'd need a place to stash it from the wife. I'd also need to find a good deal on one. '21 Wilderness would be great !!!! ~ $2500 It could be done and they sleep four/six with a shower and bathroom to boot. Add the bed of the pickup for sleeping and we could possibly have room for 8. Of course, all of this happens after I hook up with a job again .... But, I'm planning....

Just an idea .... perhaps we could joint venture it for those interested ???

Something like:

AJ,
I like how you think, but why not get a travel trailer instead of a 5th wheel. Then people with vans can pull it too.

Mike,
Generous offer. Are you sure want all of us swarming your property?

Heck,

Most of you have been here anyway, and nothing turned up missing, how bad could it be?

I'd be OK with a travel trailer at that length or so if there were partners. Up to 24' Heck that way I could pull it with my pathfinder if I wanted as well. I want to keep the weight around 5000lbs or less fully loaded in my opinion. It would be really cool if it was a toy hauler as well with a screened in porch....... R i g h t ....

As far as the 5th wheel - I always liked the rear conversation area in that 5th wheel. Maybe I'll be looking for a TT with a rear conversation area / front bed room they seem to be nicer when your touring down the road.

Anyways .... I don't want to mess up your thread with this bable .... back to the topic:

8-25-07 is that Speed weekend ?

All the kids may not come, likely me with the little 5 yr old gear head. You just gotta have a little water & I'm fine.

Lol, we're doing the "fake-a-doughboy" thing. We bought it from Costco or KMart/etc, last year, two hours to set up and 8 hours to fill.

Our kids just love splashing in it, heck, even I do...nothing like staynig cool when it's mid-90's out there
