Think i prefer the truck over the X, i believe less your competing you can go to big. Even if it is to show your craft. But hey he's fronting the bill.

It's just my opinion. To me about 6-8"s of lift and 35-40" tires makes for a nice look. Anything bigger and it just make's the vehicle look really odd. I don't like a lot of gap between tire and fender, mainly if it's a pavement pounder.

Don't get me wrong the Yellow X is def. sharp looking rig. And from what i've read sounds like he know's what he's doing.

I've play'd in the mud and did some amature rock crawling. Have a '74 Jimmy with a 6" lift and 35's. My wife's '77 we're planing on goin 3.5" suspension and 2"BL. Prolly go 33x9.50's. To each his own

I do not know when and if Vince is going to go even more insane with it...the X is about as far as one can go and still be driven safely and with total comfort.. it is a great ride and they have that X dialed in hard. The front and rear ends are more like a 6 link, not a 4 link. As I stated, just the steering linkage alone is a piece of art and his days of taking the X wheeling is obviously over with. Basically Vince just wanted to see how far he could take the X and do it in a manner that is was engineered to handle the extreme levels he wanted...big horsepower, big lift (over 30" not including tires), and the true fun of the engineering aspect. It is a toy, about a $400k toy and it is not about winning, it is about what the mind can conjour up and his guys can make, this is why you never see him do interviews and the like..it about the creation and not about his ego...a really nice guy. He is starting a company to handle clients and I believe it is called Crazy House Customs. Here is a page I made on my site just because people whom know him, have no clue what he has for toys or money..he is that humble.

Now Vince dislikes tires within the fender wells, he likes the rockers above the tires.

I had a '80 Toyota pu that rolled on 44's and we put in an 18RG Twin Cam dual carb motor from a Japan cut out. 240hp in stock form and mated it to a Toyota automatic trans. This was in '82 and it rode like crap because of the tires and the heavy rearcing of the leafs..body rode over the tires and I loved the look. Fun, impressive and totally impractical. Today, much older and wiser...STOCK, STOCK, STOCK..LOL!!! 2wd X, V10, redid the interior in true leather, Clarion 1200 watt systems, cryo rotors, air bagged the rear end and called it a day.

QUESTION!!!

Whom makes a suspension product(s) that help the crappy 2wd X? Rear leafs are weak and sack out easily..hence bagging it. I rather not re arc the springs because the ride heigth invariably changes. Front end rides like a tractor. Changed the shocks to Bilsteins, little at all, changed tires and that helped a touch..I see no aftermarket springs or leafs and was looking into coil overs with air. Figure if I cannot change the ride, I'll put 22s and slam it..at least it will look great and still keep the crappy ride...

Curious, how compatable is the X to the other Super Duty front ends..never bothered to look.
