429 DOVETAIL HEAD QUESTION
I AM GOING TO BUILD UP A 429 WITH DOVETAIL HEADS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE STOCK HP ON THIS ENGINE WAS AND WHAT YOU GUYS THINK IWILL END UP WITH.
I AM GOING TO USE AN EXTREME ENERGY CAM 262, PORT AND POLISH THE DOVE TAIL HEADS, ULTRA PERFORMANCE HEADERS,DECK THE BLOCK A LITTLE, BALENCE THE ENGINE, TORQU PLATE HONE AND ALIGN HONE MAINS

429 DOVETAIL HEAD QUESTION
cup, there is no need to yell. Don't know what the factory claims you have but would have to guess in the range of 275 to 300. The 429 is a sleepy giant that needs to be awakened. The 262 cam is too small to do that, and comp cams are single pattern, not what a ford engine likes.How about adding the 460 crank and a crane cam at about 280 or 290* ? That would get you well into the middle 400s. DF
