I'm trying to put in a new trailer socket for the lights on my truck. While I was back there by the reciver hitch I found two round 4-pin sockets female. It looked like the wiring was running along the fram to the front. Does anybody know what these are?
Should I pick up the male sides then to hook up my new brake control or is it just the same to hard wire one in? And on a side note I have no idea where you even get those connectors, anybody know of where to pick some up? I guess a part number would help too if anybody knows them. I suspected they were for the brake control, but I never have had a truck pre-wired like this.
If you are talking about the trailer plugs you can get them at any parts store. I would plug in a trailer and make sure the lights work with those plugs.
I was hoping for an internet site or someone I can call. I dont have the luxery to just run to any part store and pick one up. My location dosen't permit it.
I have heard of a few people talking about the connections before. Hasen't anybody bought of the internet?
The help is much appreciated, but I couldn't see anything like the plugs on my truck on those web sites. I have two plugs and they look identical. They are round and the female side of the socket. If you look in side them they have only four pins each. I still dont know what they are, but I gues I can push on the brake and see if I have have power in one of them. I'll give it a test tomarrow.
