Have a 1999 power stroke 7.3l.....Am I BLIND? Where on earth is the fuel Filter located? There is a cover I know....Only thing I could find is what looks like the pump under the rail.
Here (I hope) are a couple of photos that may help. One show the relative location of the fuel filter and the other one shows where the fuel drain valve is. (You'll be wanting to know where that is eventually)
Thanks guys...good thing it wasnt a rattler....It'd gotten me.....It has been years since the last diesel and that was a ford with it on the firewall I think...I forget everything though....
I have a 1996 F-350 with the diesel engine. I have been changing the fuel filter under the hood. But, are there any other fuel filters on my truck? Such as under the truck?
Thanks,
Alton
Thanks for letting me know. I thought it was getting dirty because the truck was bogging down, so I removed the filter and it was very clean looking. So...I just wondered it there was another one somewhere.

There's a little screen in the filter housing about an inch down on the drivers side to clean off too. Just take a qtip, break the cotton off and clean it.
