Hey everybody,
I have a early 99 F250 superduty powerstroke, and i was wondering what axels do i have in the front and rear. My father was a mechanic for a while and he says that he has a couple of service manuels that go thru a few of the different kinds of axel brands i just need to find out which one i need. I have to do alot of work on my front end and the right manuel would be nice to have.
That sounds about right but you should be able to verify it by one of two ways. One, you can call a Ford parts department and give them the last 8 of your VIN and they can look it up for you or you can look on the diff cover for a metal tab with some engraving on it. If it has the metal tab it should indicate what axel it is. I know for the rear on mine it has 4.30 (ring ratio) and 10.5 (Sterling) stamped onto it.
