Motor cutting out

well..my 87 ford f-150 has a motor out of a 85 mustang with a 2 barrel carb...on it....it cuts out and misses like crazy when your driving it almost to the point where you can only move by flooring it and letting off and so on....but when you take it out of gear or when your in park it will rev fine.....whats the deal..is it in the engine or is the tranny causing a prob...its got new plugs...wires..cap..rotor button..fuel pump...filter...and a freshly rebuilt carb on it.....thanks....

sounds like an ignition problem...are u using the igniton module for the f150 with the distributer from the mustang?they might not be compadible,tryputting in your old distributer from the truck engine.
