The last shop that I worked at, a tech who worked there had one of these. I replaced a pump on an Olds, (I think) and within 5 minutes all the foam and howling was gone. I never did buy one myself because I had always replaced them and then let them sit for 8 hours to let it "fix itself", although sometimes that is not always possible.
On the same note, I've used Cardone replacement pumps before and some of them howled, even though by their own posting, they have a cure. I remember a '91 Aerostar of mine that I replaced with a Cardone and I think the howl was worse than the old one I took off. Maybe they have improved over the years.
i like AC Delcos and FoMoCo MC if avail....pricey
