IP manual

Hi all,
I was searching around for information on what the torque screw actually does, and I came across this manual:

http://www.stanadyne.com/dealerporta...nual/99009.pdf

48 pages of everything you'd ever want to know about our injection pumps...

I'm willing to give it a try, but would certainly make sure to have a coffee can handy, just in case the governor was FUBAR'd. Would hate to have a runaway on startup......

it would be really cool to be able to rebuild your own IP so you dont have to pay lots of money to have it done

i have an old IP in need of rebuild or scrap, im thinking it could be an educational piece! wonder what all the sizes of numbered wrenches are, might need some custom made.

I wonder if the wrenches correspond to those pesky numbered drill bits?

Being a toolmaker by trade, and being used to fine fitting, small parts and all the rest of it, I wouldn't hesitate to take one of these apart, and could make tools along the way as needed to do so. However, just having a manual, but nothing else, I wouldn't try to rebuild it, maybe not even put it back together. I'll have an extra IP sometime, and when I do, I'll tear one apart and photograph along the way.

Right now I only have one IP that is uncertain, I should pop it off, and take it for testing, after that, if it's no good, I could tear it down.

I should be getting a new IP and injectors in my dually, poor old gal is getting pretty sluggish, but I think I'm going to hold off and pull the engine sometime, it's the truck with 2-3 broken off GP's that is going to need some attention.

Cool find, saved it for future as others have. Will certainly help with understanding how the IP works.
