Collapsed Upper Rad Hose

The rad hose on my 1992 3.0 collapses shortly after shutting the engine off. it goes back to normal after it is restarted and reaches operating temperature. Anybody have this happen and if so, what was the cause?

Yeah, I thought about the rad cap too, I think I will start with that and see what happens.
Thanks.

How does a rad cap cause this? What principle?
I'd be inclined to think it was the hose. Is it unusually soft? How old is it?

valve in middle of cap seal area is designed to admit either air or coolant tank water. If stuck, vacuum builds up causing collapse.

Some valves are springed, some are gravity. Either can stick. This is the only thing that can collapse hose.
