Guys I really need help here. First off I have a 01 F350 CC I just bought, and the dome lights wont come on when a door opens. And I notice the lights on the front doors wont turn on either. Now I have owned a ranger and an F150 and im well aware of the door switchs, but I think something is disconnected.
Ok the dome light wont come on when any door is opened, and on any door the "door ajar" light will light up. The map lights will work when I turn on the switches, i have bought a new dome light assy. and still no go. Took off the door panels everything looks hooked up and the harnesses dont seem to be messed with. When I turn the dimmer all the way up to turn on the dome lights they dont work either. All the relays and fuses are in working order.
After searching and reading I think it might be a GEM module, but I would think none of the other things would work. I tested with a voltmeter for power to the bulb in the door but nothing. Something must be disconnected, so I crawl under the dash and look at this ****!!!
I'm at a loss here, hopefully someone can help me out because I cant find what these go to or what they did. Thank you.
Look in the fuse box under the dash. You should find a "interior lights relay". See if it's clicking when you open the doors and the dome lights should be coming on. Also look for fuse #11 and see if it's good. The GEM module drives the relay, so we might be able to work from there forwards or backwards depending if it works or not.
Grey plug = Trailer Brake Controller
Four wires with Black ends = User access wires (other end in engine bay by firewall)
Red wire taps maybe a stereo accessory or something like that?
HMM looks like it had an alarm and they did a hack job. the lil red connectors are where they tapped into the wires say power door lock, dome light etc if you go to bulldogsecurity website they ahve where you can select your vehicle and it will show you the wire colors on your truck you need to connect an alarm to and that might verify some of them taps. kinda hard not being there. as far as the harnesses im no expert but i can tell you on my E150 i have 3 harness plugs with nothing attached under my dash. 3 beside the driver B pillar. so that one you have it may be that way form the factory. sometimes they use the same harness for all the trucks then plug in the options. kinda like the keypad on the door the harness is there even if you dont have the option
Good luck
also you might wanna edit your post and either split the two pics up or i dunno if it will work but put the < and a B > between them this is one wide post

The relay is driven by the GEM module. I will have to look at my diagrams, but in the meantime, look at the GEM module carefully and look for water damage. Sometimes the windshield leaks and water runs down into the module.
Wow maybe i should save myself the embarrassment. But hopefully this will help someone else. So i go out to look for the GEM module and i guess its on the back of the fuse panel, i take off the fuse cover too see if theres any bolts to unscrew to take it off and it just so happens to cross my mind from going through the manual looking at the fuse/relay diagram that the #2 slot isnt used..........so guess what i take it out of the 2nd slot and put it in the first where its supposed to be and WALLAH! Works now!
Thank you intrepid and franklin for the help, i really do appreciate it.
