i bought a 79 f-250 about a year ago. The body was real clean for being a truck right on the ocean. The paint job was done about 7 years ago. i notice the other day the cab and the driverside door has a couple of rusty spots. the rust is coming from the inside working it's way out. i noticed the advertsiment for the rust bullets. i am wondering would it be possible for the rust bullets to be placed inside the cab. to help remove it.
What are your recomendations removing the rust?
Looks to me like the Rust Bullet is similar to POR-15 which is used to protect against new rust AFTER you have at least sanded, wire brushed and done some work on the rust........"ie" on the frame......inside the engine bay, wheel wells, inside doors.......that sort of thing.
You're going to have to take it down to metal and find the source, cut it out and put in new metal or at least patch it first......then use the rust Bullet as additional help against more rust.
No way to completely stop rust, once it starts coming out, short of getting rid of it......it'll still work it's way out under your paint even if you treat the inside. I learned this on a few projects over the years.......

"Rust Bullet" is a rust encapsulation/sealing paint that is painted over the rust to stop it from rusting. In order to use this product you need to sand the effected area down to remove as much of the loose rust as possible and then clean the surface with wax and grease remover. Then you paint over the area with the Rust Bullet paint. Once the paint has dried you can then lightly sand the area with some 150 grit sand paper and again clean the surface with wax/grease remover and paint with your top coat. This type of repair will not look perfect, but it will stop the rust from getting any worse.
