429-460 engine mounts

429-460 engine mounts
Anybody out there put a 429 or 460 in a 53-56 using a straight axle and stock springs? I will be using a 3 inch drop axle with the stock springs giving me the stock travel. Will I have clearance issues with the front sump oil pan? Right now I have a front sump truck pan that is 6 Qt. The crossmember kit that is available says to use a 4 qt pan. That seems like a very small amount of oil for the setup that I have. The other way to go on the mounts is the non crossmember type with the sandwich type rubber mounts. Just wondering if anybody runs this type of setup and can give me some pointers on what I will running in to. Mark

I had a 460 in my 56 that had a front sump pan and did not have any clearance issues. There's a pic in my gallery showing the truck, it was fairly low in the front due to de-arced springs. The axle was stock however and still did not interfere with the pan.
