2006 ford f250 6.0 6speed, stoped at the store and came out and it wont start.
Turns over and wont fire, glow plug light will not go out
help plesas
Just judging from the bit concerning the glow plug light not going out, it sounds electronic to me. I would first try simply disconnecting the batteries for ten minutes to clear the keep alive memory. If that doesn't work, there is a good chance it is caused by a high pressure oil leak. Some leaks will lessen as the temperature of the engine drops, so if the first advice doesn't help, try letting the truck cool then restarting.
Silly question, but since you said the fuel pump won't fire...
Did you try the fuel pump reset? On my 2004, it's over on the passenger side front kick panel (down low under the dash, below the glove box). There's a little cutout where you stick your finger in there to push down on it. It might be worth a try, especially if something banged against there good and hard recently.
matt does your webiste have any links on it ? nothing to click on
He just got his home page up today and is still constructing the links. Keep checking back and he should have links to other pages in the next few days or so.
Is there any place besides the dealership to get these?
Is it an easy do it yourself fix?
thanks

You can try "Direct Ford Parts" or Discount Power Parts" they are both FTE sponsers. The CPS & CKS are easy to access. The CPS is on the left side of the engine block, up by the front just above the bed plate. The CKS is on the Right side of the engine block up front at the bed plate.
The failure of either of these sensors on the 6.0 is very rare. More likely you have a HPOP leak and these are difficult to fix yourself.
If you go into the 6.0 Tech folder you can click on the link for the "6.0 Bible" and it has pictures of the locations of these parts.
One more thing to check since you are checking the simple stuff. Under the hood is an auxillary relay/fuse box, drivers side up by the fire wall. Check the 30A fuse FICM Logic. If it is blown the engine will crank but not fire.
I unfortunatly had the exact same thing happen to me a couple months ago. Truck would turn over but wouldn't fire out of nowhere seemingly. I re-set the the computer, with no change. Ford came and picked it up. The first thing they did was change the cam position sensor, and that did nothing. the truck wasn't throwing any codes at all they said. They eventually came to the conclusion that the PCM was fried. Changed that and everything ran fine. The service manager said this is not a common problem, only the 4th PCM they have changed since the 6L came out, and they are a large dealer.
