I have a 1990 f-10 with a 302 and had a check engine lite and bad idle,so after months of dealing with this problem I jumped in the engine bay and started tracing ever wire and hose and there it was the whole time one wire was chewed off and one yellow vaccume line chewed also,I fixed the wire and fix the vaccume line and bing the engine lite went off and she idles like new,I don`t know what the part is called but it is on the driverside top off the motor right infront of the pressure reg there are two black modulars looking this on a bracket with a two wire plug on top of it with two vaccume lies below it one yellow and one black what the hell is this thing?also with the same truck the temp gauge does not work where is the sending wire for this gauge on the motor?how do I test it?I see there is a sending unit on the top of the thermostat hoseing with a two wire plug id there anothe one?thanks for your help.
I think what you are describing is the control valve for the egr
that temp sender is for the computer
the one you want is on the left side of the intake manifold
very close to the #5 injector and has one wire
usually covered by a wire harness
ground the wire momenteraly while someone watches the gauge
if it goes full hot change the sender
