wrestlin funnies
I think it's a case of just too much celebrity and money -- like a lot of other things. 'Wrasslin' was better when the shows were simple and the hokey was unbelievable.
There's a book out there by Bobby Heenan that's an autobiography, but it brings back the funny hokey crap -- it's a lot funnier than I thought it would be.
"Bobby the Brain : wrestling's bad boy tells all "
There are a lot of stories -- some made up I'm sure. One of my favorites was an early interview. They called Bobby in to sub for one of the members of some 'group'. Unfortunately, they still didn't have enough -- so they put a hat and coat on a coat rack and did the interview. With a few comments about how the guy was " kind of quiet. "
I doubt if it sold well, but it might be in your local library.
