Sometimes you wonder
You might have seen a few news reports talking about SpaceX and how it failed in it's latest launch.
Only-- they really didn't. As PART of the mission, they were trying to do something never previously done. They had a big floating platform in the ocean and they wanted to get the booster to flip over and land on it. That part almost worked. The booster did flip and came down in the right spot ( no small feat). But, it landed too hard and was damaged.
The final stage reached the space station just as it was supposed to.
I was pretty impressed with the whole thing. The flip and land part was always assumed in all of the SciFi fiction that AI read as a kid. Never thought about it, but it's a pretty tough thing to do. Not to mention that there was no pilot on the booster -- and I don't think that they were operating it remotely.
Sometimes the media just makes me shake my head,

As for "the media"---remember that's the same bunch who perpetrate Kim Kardashian is a "celebrity", someone whose contributions in life bring them better ratings (money) than truly interesting facts are ever given a chance to do.
Its depressing but these days not such a rare thing.
There was ONE heroic media guy that I heard about. I think that it was when they were talking up the female celeb who was devastated because she had to spend time in jail. (There were at least daily updates).
Anyway, this guy started to read the story, stopped and said "that's not news", and moved on.
