welp, im head over heels into doing my lower ball joints. this is a GREAT time.... i was so mad last night i threw the hammer at the truck and walked away. got the correct tool today and wam, it worked. now to put it back together and do the other side
Are you having to replace the ball joints because the rubber boots have deteriorated & cracked open, like mine99 has????
Noticed them having some light surface cracks last summer, 7 years & about 50K miles then, now they're shot & completely crumbled up, about 57K 7 eight years old!!!!
The boots seem to be of very poor rubber quality, they look like some of that recycled rubber crap, that Ford makes their brake & clutch pedal covers out of.
My old 78 Merc Zypher boots & pedal covers are still sound, but then they were made out of the REAL stuff!!!! lol
no, i beat my truck up and down country roads at 70mph, they wear out every 3-4 years. my tires were wearing uneven and i had a slight vibration so i did the joints again. new shocks all the way around. i would put balljoints as one of the tougher things ive ever done.
