Dana 60 rebuild

What would be a averge price for a dana 60 rebuild in my 78 f250? Bearings, etc? I was quoted around 550 and my local 4x4 shop..Thanks

They are dirt cheep in junk yards around here. The last one I bought was 50$

A lot depends on what you mean when you say "rebuild". If that price includes a new ring & pinion, it sounds reasonable. Bearings and races only, sound a little high?. Remember, shop labor is not cheap. $60 - $80 per hour around here!

Thats cheap for a rebuild with lockers. Up here in the high desert I was quoted 1100.00 just for a rebuild on my Dana 60. I think I need to head down to Brentwood and get myself another quote.
