My alternator died this morning on the way to work. I did make it to work...
Called around and Napa seemed to have a decent price.. 156 for a reman. The mechanic where I worked told me to take it back, that Napa makes garbage reman alts.
I put in a DuraLast Gold from AutoZoo (new, not reman) for $179 FWIW. That was last month -- so far, so good. I figure if it was going to go, it would in the fairly hot weather we're having now (Mid-90s). Oh, and I guess I better knock on wood...
I bought one for my 95 and 1 month later had one of the longest days I can remember. It started with the alternator going bad.
I bought some lifetime warranty shocks form napa and had to replace a tire on my 02 after 3 weeks and a shock exchange from a bad shock. (I'm a slow learner)
My alternator is from Autozone with no problems in the last 10,000 miles. I like the fact they came out to the parking lot to check my alternator with their little tester without me having to pull the part first.
