the correct torque specs for all ford trucks is if the lug nuts are 3/4 -100ftlbs 13/16-150ftlbs, these torques are the same for steel wheels or aluminum,

Nothing like loosing a back wheel going across Nebraska pulling a 30' Sundowner fully loaded w/ two horses on board, probably figured a impact gun would be tight enough and besides they were torqued before leaving the house back in Tennessee! NOT. Torque the lugs to the specs on the wheel.

I have always torqed mine to 140 ft lbs and never had a problem,,a dab of never-seize, on each stud,,,and clean the wheel center and apply a thin layer there also to prevent Alloy wheel corroding/seizing to the hub,,,alittle goes a long way,,do not get it on your calipers!!

Exactly, zig-zag tightening pattern, 1-2 seconds of impact after they stop spinning and there on.

As an engineer, I have to speak up and caution you that if you have a decent rattle wrench, that is way too much. Most good wrenches can apply well over 200 ft-lbs. That is enough to plastically deform the studs - permanently stretching and weakening them. Eventually, they will fail. Please do not blame Ford when they do.
The reason for a torque spec is to avoid this. You want to stretch the stud so it keeps the nut under constant tension to prevent loosening, but you must limit the stretch to the elastic zone of the bolt. This is a relatively narrow zone.

if you put never seize on lug nuts you have to drop the wheel toruqe by 20 ftlbs or you will over tighten

It can actually make much more than 20 ft-lbs difference. Lug nuts and studs should be clean and dry.

Where's the like button? Nothing on bolts/ nuts that specify dry torque.. easy to overtorque and damage the the threads/bolt.. read above above the elasticity of bolts.
