I currently have a superchips tuner for my '06 6.0. I have read a few discussions about tuners in general. Any opinions on the superchips product? Would you consider this a 'good' or 'bad' tuner?

For those who are opposed to the superchips tuner, what brand do you believe is a 'safe' tuner?

Check out the 6.0L forum a little further down on the main forum page. There are tons of threads in there about tuners.

 

I haven't bought one for my 07 yet cause can't decide whats best. Have posted requests like yours but always get references like the one you did with no one giving me a straight answer. Makes u wonder huh? What do you or don't you like about the one you have now?

 

I'm sorry but it gets old answering the same question over and over again. If you go down to the 6.0L forum and do a search for tuner you will find well over 100 threads. It seems like once a day someone makes a new thread asking which is the best tuner, rather than looking through the existing threads. If you don't know where the 6.0L forum is here is a link to it.

To answer your question though, the favorite tuner of the people in the 6.0L forum is the SCT Xcal-II with custom tunes. The recommended tuners are Eric at Innovative Diesel, and Matt at Spartan Diesel Technologies.

I think the truck is not real responsive. I know the engine has power, but it takes so many rpms to get it, you have to drive it like you're mad at it. Plus, I had an '02 7.3 with a manual, and that truck pulled so much better than this one that it kind of spoiled me. I realize the newer configurations are better than the equivalent older ones, but I'd take my old truck back any day. I'm primiarly looking to get a little more response out of this truck.
