Among the numerous parts that didn't come with my truck, one was the distributor. I picked one up on fleabay but would like to make sure it is correct for my 53 F100 Flathead...????
There is a stamped plate just below the cap (or where the cap will be when I get one) that has the number 610 on it.
There is also a number on the shaft, best I can tell it is 7RA12131 B3

The shaft is correct, but without a distributor ID number, that's all I can tell you. The location for the ID number is where you found 610, but 610 isn't the correct ID number. I've seen similar numbers like that before on many different yr dizzy's. It's a parts house or rebuilders ID (part) number.
Here's the problemo..these dizzy's use the same shaft (7RA-12175-D).
1948/49: 7RA-12127-C use with 8BA-6059-C front cover
1950/53: 8BA-12127 Use with 8BA-6059-C front cover
Hopefully someone will give you a more definite answer.

The only difference in the front covers is - some were made to support an extended shaft for support. Your dist looks like the early version, but things have been swapped around so much you can't go by what the parts came from.
A picture of the end of the dizzy and the cam cover will clarify things.
