What's so odd about it? You never seen a lifted, regular cab?

Seeing as how I'm not that old, maybe I shouldn't be saying this...

...but there did use to be a time when all the trucks were standard cabs and the the frame length only changed when somebody got the 6-1/2 box, the 8 foot box, or the 9 foot box.

I think the fact that manual trannies and standard cabs are now considered special order is rather sad...I'm not saying extended cabs and Autos don't have their place, but I personally don't have much use for 4 door. An extended cab? Well, yeah, but I'd still prefer the standard cab.

I think 99.999% of people want more than a regular cab, therefore making them special order makes sense, IMO.

I don't know if the percentage is totally correct, but yeah, probably a good majority of truck buyers want cabs that go beyond the standard cab.

I like a truck that's not any longer than it has to be. Makes it easier to manuever in the mountains.

Love my regular cab.

Don't have kids, dog likes the back.

I have lots of people comment on how rare regular cab trucks seem to be getting. That is usually followed by a story about their dad's or grandad's old truck.

I had to get this one shipped in from another dealer. I would have preferred a stick but that was impossible to find at the time.

Neither a standard cab short bed truck or a 2 door sedan are popular when new but they are the most valuable when they get to the collectable or special interest stage. You seldom see 4 door anything bring big bucks when they get old unless it is super nice and it is still far cheaper than the same vehicle would have been if it only had 2 doors.

Of course part of the reason they are valuable is because they are rare (and they also make good hot rods).

Yeah that is true but like last50h said most people prefer supercabs and automatics these days and basically only the work trucks are regular cabs and manual the truck market has changed a lot

Until recently, two door coupes were always much more popular then the 4 door sedans. It has only been in the last 10 years or so that 2 doors seem to have become less available then the 4 doors. But who here still wouldn't want to see the return of the 2 door Bronco or even the Explorer for that matter!

Even if I didn't have 2 kids, a wife and a dog, I still wouldn't want a two door. IMO, they're nothing but a pain in the **** in an everyday use type vehicle. The versatility just isn't there.
