351 Windsor Quick "id"

What is the quickest way to raise a hood in the junkyard and determine if you are looking at a 351 windsor engine? Also suggestions on what model and make cars I might check.

Are you talking the differants between a 302 and a 351W .
Or 351W 351C 351M ???

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-Feb-02 AT 07:51 PM (EST)]Sorry. Yes the difference between a 351 windsor and a 351 cleveland. Don't know about the 351m. I have read there is something about the thermostat housing in the intake and the other in the block. Not for sure please set me straight!

351c has 8 bolt valve covers

351w has 6 bolt valve covers

And yes the Windsor thermostat housing in the intake and the Cleveland's is in the block..

Thanks for the web site. It pretty much lays it all out there to you. Don't think I will have any trouble telling the difference. I think I will go to the junk yard this weekend and try them out.
