The sweet speed for my rig is 1950 rpm at 75mph .... 29' Outback, only 7000lbs loaded ... 14mph ... my milege actually goes down if I let off the gas ... data based on only three trips with the new set-up .... Many, many, many more to follow ....
Sorry to flame you,but it's not nice to pull a trailer that fast in traffic..Sure you can go that fast, but how fast can you stop in traffic..Also,it has been proven that the faster you go the more fuel you use..

I am a converted superfan of the Excursion towing--especially our 6.0L with 5 speed Torqshift. We just returned from a 4,000 mile round trip from Oklahoma to San Diego and return. Pulled our 9,000 lb travel trailer at 65 mph through desert heat exceeding 110F (122F at one point), while pulling 6% grades. Everyone riding in air conditioned comfort in a SUV with over 115,000 miles!
Too bad there is no serious competition still being sold. Why not a diesel Expedition with beefed up suspension?

Mr. BigDog55 ... I NEVER tow that fast when there are little people around me ...
I am almost always in the 65-70 range .... I was just stating where the beast likes to run .... If I go below 65 my RPMs dip closer to 1600 and I kick in-and-out of OD ... lifted 4" with 33's needs a little more oomph to keep it all rolling ... But on those rare occasions, just me, the sun and the open road ....
