How much oil?

Just wondering how much a 300 holds. Last time I changed the oil I think I put over 6 quarts in because it barely came above the low on the dipstick. About to go buy oil.

Rear sump and 4x4 pans can hold 7.5 quarts with filter. front sump pans are 6 with a filter.

my '93 F-150 2WD holds exactly 6 quarts w/filter, and it is a rear sump. Do I have something wrong with my dipstick maybe?

The 91 rear sump motor in my 57 holds 5.75 qts, and that brings it just up to the top of the hash mark.

That's including the filter BTW.

I swear by Mobil 1, and as a mater of fact I run full synthetics, grease, trans, rear end, and engine. The switch to synthetic gear lube alone utterly transformed my old 89 Mazda PU manual trans (185K) from grinding on the 1-2 shift and ocasional 1st gear "jump-out", to a smoothy, (still going at 275K). I'm sold!!!!
