oh yea the tag on the pumpkin says;
--409 H
-L73 10 5 CA31

I will be outside working on it so If I donnot respond rite away please dont think I am ignoreing you.Thanks so much for any response.

Friction modifier is what you are looking for...Ford or parts store will have it. Add a little and try it out - if the rearend chatters, add a little more until you can make tight turns with no grabbing in the rear. I believe it took about 3 ounces for mine...but my memory is...oh heck, I forgot what I was going to say!

This part L73 10 5 the dash in front of the L would be a 3

If you dont want to fool with the additive use "Royal Purple MAX Gear" it has the friction modifier allready in it.

Your truck description, all the 250s, and 350s in the super duties, with SRW are a sterling 10.5 unless swapped out.

That also, is what gave it away.

73 designates a 3.73, 10 5 is 10.5" ring gear.

The sticker is put on during manufacturing when they close the pumpkin. It is not filled till later down the line.

Are you sure that the last 4 are not 0A31?

0 = 2000
A = January
31 = 31st

Build date Jan 31, 2000

I thought it was "CA31" but if it was OA31 that would make sence the truck was manufactured in feb 2000
