lately when I'm driving my F250 home from work, the fan has been roaring away the whole way home.. I replaced the clutch back in december with a Hayden clutch.. Is this normal? It seems to be horribly affecting the truck's gas usage and it seriously reduces the power.. in the morning, I make it about 9 miles out of 14 without the fan roaring, then 3/4 way there on the freeway it starts in again (almost always in the same place), But in the afternoon it roars the whole way..the engine runs nice and cool, and so does the A/C (even without the fan roar). could the clutch be defective, or does it really need to work that hard to keep the Arizona heat at bay? I've heard a few similar trucks like mine go by, and they arent roaring like mine.
I will replace the clutch in the morning, and change it's oil while i'm working under the hood.. thank you for the help.. the gas it's been using is killing me.. (tank lasts 1 week..and I only drive 140+- miles a week.. it's getting like 9MPG) could the fan work the engine THAT hard?
