ok i'm up for suggestions here, long story short, i only hit 10-11 psi boost, 12 for a split second, my truck mods are in the signature, truck is in excellent working order, cylinder contibution passes, no codes, runs good but feels as though it should have more, no boost tube leaks, no up-pipe leaks, crankcase pressure test passes with a 0 hg reading, did not run compression test due to crankcase pressure reading. ebpv isnt there, no exhasut restriction, fpr is clean, oil is good, fuel is good, fuel filter is good, airfilter is good, i think i've covered it all, fire away
A stock injector truck will top out at about 18-20 psi. You proably lost about 5 psi through your intercooler like I did. I was about 14 tops after the IC install. Then I went to a .84 a/r turbo housing and I gained back what I lost with the IC. Now I can hit 18-19 when I pull hard. So I would say your in the normal range but definatly on the low end.
Well, you definitely need to get a boost gauge and just hook it up in-line with your map sensor hose since that taps into the intake post turbo.
ltfox, you shouldn't have lost any boost after the intercooler mod, I did the intercooler and didn't loose any boost, just have more turbo lag due to the added amount of volume the turbo has to pressurize before the motor. If you have a pressure loss, check all your piping and connectors, I know at a big rig shop they actually pressure test the intercoolers for leaks, any leaks post turbo is just robbing the boost power away.
