Another important thing to do first is to request an OASIS report on the truck. This will tell you all work that a dealer has done to it.

In my case, I bought a used 2003 with the 6.0 which everybody told me was a bad combination to buy. The OASIS report showed no powertrain work done...so I bought it and have been really happy.

Bottom line, get an OASIS report on it before you commit to buy!
