Thanks for the review on the P-E you have. I think I might have to just go get one.
No problem. A friend of mine has the same unit on his 02 Z71 that he installed when he bought the truck new. It's still in great shape. It's quite a rugged cover.
You might want to check on the new Truxedo Deuce cover. It is the first soft roll-up, hinged tonneau cover combination. When you need to use the entire bed you can roll it all the way to the front. You can also quickly grab something out of the bed with the hinged area near the cab. Here is a link to more informaton on the Deuce cover. http://www.truxedo.com/deuce/deuce.html
Dude, if you are looking for an awesome truck cover, you have GOT to check out DiamondBack!! It's the diamond plate style, so it looks really cool on the truck, it opens at both ends, locks at both ends, and you can load the crap outta the top! A friend of mine has their ATV package which comes with ramps, guards, everything you need to load the ATV's right on top of the cover. I've never seen anything like it!! http://www.diamondbackcovers.com/atvmain.asp
Yah, their ATV package is a bit on the high end price-wise but it does come with all the pieces/parts to load the ATV's on top of the cover, rather than hauling a trailer...their SE cover is a lot more affordable and still hauls a couple hundred pounds on top...i'm savin' up for mine...totally tough, and of course the fact that it's shiny and cool-looking doesn't hurt...and since the SE panels only weigh like 25 pounds i can handle it myself and i don't have to ask the neighbor guy to help me when i need to take the dang panels off for hauling something tall, and i'm totally lovin' that!
Tri folds are nice and easy to use, there are many people who are very satisfied with there truxedos! Give me a call, Ill give you a great deal on any of them and answer any questions that you would have! Good luck picken!
A word of advice. If your going to tow a fifth wheel trailer, then stay away from the tri folds. When they are folded up against the cab, it's very difficult to see the hitch in the bed when aligning up to your trailer.
