Charging System Blues 300

Can anyone help me solve a charging system problem? I replaced my alternator and my cables but my atlernator will not charge the battery. The alternator was bench tested under a load and it passed. I even tried hooking the ground cable to the alternator bracket, but the charging system is not working. Any suggestions? Please

if its and older truck you need to replace the voltage regulator

Maybe the battery is defective, not accepting the charge.

Get a voltmeter, and check the voltage at the alternater and at the battery, while its idling. It should be the same or very close. If not you have a problem with your wires. I believe it should charge at around 11 to 14 volts I think (I have been messing with 24 volt systems too long). If it is the same shut off the engine and keep the voltmeter connected to the battery and see if the voltage slowly gose down it should stay at a few volts below what it charged at, and not go down. Hope this helps.
